Urinary tract infections?

Does anyone not get the usual respiratory/sinus infections, and instead gets frequent UTIs?
My father is a 72 year old man with a spinal cord injury (paraplegia and neurogenic bladder) and lymphopenia and specific antibody deficiency. The immune system problems were discovered late in life, but fortunately he hasn't had too many respiratory infections. Just one every year or two. So far, he has been able to hold off prophylactic antibiotics and IVIg.
But now he has had 7 urinary tract infections (UTIs) in the past year. He is at risk for UTIs because of his spinal cord injury and neurogenic bladder (he has to do clean intermittent catheterization 6 times a day to drain his bladder). He had 2 or 3 UTIs in 2011 and at that time his Immunologist wanted to start IVIg. However, his spinal cord injury docs and urologists said "whoa whoa WHOA... this is pretty normal for someone like him to get UTIs... let's try other things first..." and the UTIs stopped on their own and he was doing well until 2014. Now in the past month he has had 6 UTIs in a row.
Again, his immunologist wants to do a "trial" of IVIg for 6 months to see if it will help. He admits that he has never seen a patient like my Dad who has UTIs instead of respiratory infections. His other doctors want to try other things, so it is very frustrating for my Dad since his doctors do NOT communicate with each other at all, and also do not understand the other medical problems very well.
Anyway.... since you never like to be the "only one"... I wanted to check again to see if any of you get frequent UTIs, or maybe you did before you started therapy? I know it is unlikely that there is someone on this board that has neurogenic bladder too, but if there is, we'd love to hear from you!!
