newbie... issues.. IgG

I've always been sickly, I was 2 pounds and 13 oz and 3 months early. I've had a host of things wrong with me, especially in the last 3 years.

Reoccurring ear infections
Reoccurring Sinus infections/sinus headaches (frequent)
Bladder infections
Lower left abdominal pain/cramping (frequent)
Morning diarrhea after eating
Constipation/IBS
Pneumonia
Bronchitis
Pleurisy
C-diff
Parvovirus
MRSA/cellulitis (nasal swab negative after treatment)
Gastroenteritis
Sciatica (frequent)
Plantar fasciitis
Anaphylaxis
Excess sweating (day – have had ETS-C for hyperhidrosis)
Night sweats
Numbness in hands in feet (falling asleep easily)
Tingling sensation in tongue tip
Rashes (unknown origin)
Stage 3 dry eye (have not been tested for sjogrens)
Chest pain and tightness
Ulcer
Acid reflux
Keratosis Palarsis on legs (since 2011)
Morning dizziness and nausea
Extreme fatigue/out of breath easily
Migraines (frequent)
High blood pressure (when in pain/upset/nervous)
Flushing (when in pain/upset/nervous)
Muscle cramps and joint pain
Back and body pain
Random zaps of pain
Itching (feeling like something crawling on me)
Shortened menstrual cycle from 7 days to 2 days
Pressure in ears
Light headedness
Worsening eyesight (glasses since Elm. School -4.00 and -4.50)
9mm endometrial stripe (not menopausal)
hemangioma on liver
cyst in R wrist and elbow (since have ruptured)



I recently went to Shands and had my immune system checked and came up with:

I'm waiting on my primary to get in contact with me as I sent her the results yesterday.

I tend to be anemia often, right now I'm on the border. RDW| 11.0 - 14.0 %| 13.8
Also my creatinine is on the border: CREATININE| 0.40 - 0.90 mg/dL| 0.90

Any suggestions on what I should ask my doctor/test need to be ran? I'm waiting to get a CT of my abd/pelvis due to pain and other findings from an ultrasound I had done as well...

Hi Jessica,

Welcome to the forum! Looking at the list of symptoms your showing it certainly looks like you've been through a lot. I'm not a medical doctor, but your immunoglobulin results look practically all within the standard ranges apart from the IgG being a little low, so you might want to get that re-tested?

I would get into contact with a clinical immunology specialist as this is a very specialised area which few ordinary doctors tend to have experience in (as conditions affecting the immune system as quite rare). Thats on top of the fact that there are so many different parts of the immune system, and each can have their own different set of pathologies. As so theres no one overall test of the immune system, and things like T-cell function, B-cell function, immunoglobulins (and their subclasses) etc all need to be tested because each tend to have a knock on effect on each other. The immune system is like a series of chain reactions and a defect in one part can lead to the rest of the process being affected.

The tests I mentioned are only the basic ones. I know when I was suspected of having an immunodeficiency condition due to very low levels of immunoglobulins in all classes, they did over 30 different tests to check for a multitude of conditions. I was subsequently diagnosed with Common Variable Immunodeficiency, and put on IgG replacement therapy. For that to be diagnosed though many other conditions needed to be first checked for, and then excluded as most immunodeficiency conditions show similar symptoms on the 'outside' (e.g recurrent or repeated infections), but on the inside there can be dozens of different potential reasons for those 'outside' symptoms.
