Night sweats?

When I went for my recent regular check up the Immunologist asked, amongst many other questions, - "do I have night sweats"? I don't get them often, and probably only due to my GF turning up the heating, but wondered what relevance or what this condition could be a sign of. Does anyone know?

Its probably something to do with a certain other organisation (who you may or may not be aware of) recently kicking up a fuss because of how a few of its members (supposedly) on immunoglobulin therapy have been discussing on their forum about suffering night sweats, and not being able to find a reason for it. Other than that I don't know why they would be asking that!

'a certain other organisation' I'm intrigued! Do I take it we have rival?

On the night sweats font I've looked on NHS site and wish I hadn't. There's a long list of possible reasons some are very serious some are no so. The main one is symptom of diabetes.

Looking up symptoms online will probably make you feel even worst (or it does in my experience!). So many symptoms are common to many disease/condition states that its going to probably more hinder than help.

Even if you get night sweats occasionally its unlikely to be anything that harmful, its when you start getting something like that frequently that you should see someone about it.

Ok here's a list from the Mayo Clinic in the USA about night sweats and their possible causes.

I had night sweats long ago from menopause. Otherwise, all my sweating is during the, day from my head, due to a temperature dysregulation that's part of my autoimmune 'condition'.

I got terrible night sweats before I was diagnosed 20 years ago and was put on gammaglobulin replacement therapy.
Things were so bad I had to sleep in a towelling bath robe to stop the bedding getting soaked.
Fortunately i haven't had them since, but I wonder if they come when we have a fever, which seems to be a rarity for patients on Ig therapy?
My wife likes to be very warm in bed whereas I don't!
Solution - two single duvets, different TOG ratings, and I can throw mine back if i'm not comfortable!!!
