ADCAL side effects?

hi,
last week i started taking ADCAL, prescribed for vitamin d deficiency and calcium supplement. two great big chalky tablets to be taken once a day an hour before eating. trouble is they seem to be giving me gnawing hunger pangs, which make me want to eat and then when i do i find i really don't fancy my food. also i get a very dry mouth and lips that even drinking a load of water doesn't help. these effects are not noted in the insert sheet for adcal.
anyone else have these effects, if so is there a better supplement, as i really need to get my vitamin levels up!!

I take Adcal,well I usually forget,but have'nt noticed any side effects,IVIG seems to up my appetite massively,but no not Adcal. Sorry i am no help

thanks for getting back on this.
i spoke to the pharmacist at my clinic today and she says she thinks the problem is the calcium, and that there is another tablet without the chalk. she will recommend my gp prescribes it for me.
interesting that you say ivig ups your appetite. i never thought about that before as i have always had a very "healthy' appetite, to the extent that i have to remind myself to stop eating!!
