Any 007 fans here? What did you think of Skyfall?

I saw the latest Bond film a couple of weekends ago and I loved it! In my opinion it was probably the best Bond since at least Goldeneye in 1995, unlike the last two it was a BOND film and not a thin copy of the Bourne series with the shakey camera etc; the whole film was not just mindless action and there was HUMOUR! Really improved the tone of the film and made it much more watchable.

So to any other Bond fans out there who have seen it, what did you think? Try to keep any spoilers out of your post for now for the benefit of those who have not seen it yet (or type them in white text as draging over the text will allow it to be seen if wanted.

saw it at a "premiere" the other sunday. Red carpet, evening dress, canapes and of course, martinis, shaken but not stirred.
Like yourself, thought it was the best from Daniel Craig. Won't spoil the end. Any thoughts of a next Bond? I think Rupert Pendy Jones would make a super Bond. (think Whitechapel; Spooks etc)......

Yep, Skyfall is FAB - U - LOUS!
We saw it last monday afternoon, virtually had the cinema to ourselves and came out feeling great! Only movie where the stunt man credits outnumber the cast credits!

And in addition, all of the 'henchmen' that Silva has at the climatic battle were actually actors and not professional stuntmen! Sam Mendes wanted to use actors as he felt they would give a more realistic performance, so a number were put through a several week long course and the best appeared in the film getting shot, blown up etc.

I particularly loved the cinematography and lighting, this will doubtlessly be Roger Deakins (of The Shawshank Redemption, A Beautiful Mind, Fargo, True Grit and many other films fame) 10th Oscar nomination (and perhaps finally a win?). The film brought Bond back to being Bond, there was humour, a coherent plot and a well rounded and exceptionally performed villain; rather than it being a thin copy of the Borune films with the 'shaky camera' and constant deaths and chases like in Quantum of Solace. All together it was a well worthy 50th Anniversary film (and also 60 years since the first Bond book, Casino Royale was released) so roll on the next 50 years and lets hope they can keep them up to this standard!
