...to make me feel proud?
A quick reference to Heather Small's song. Random, I know, but I will now explain.
I was sitting watching Miranda the other day (comedy programme) and one of the characters sings this "line" quite frequently and no, it's not really that funny. However, every time I hear her sing it I think of UKPIPS and this forum.
I've not been very active recently and it's mainly due to the fact that I'm barely awake at the moment and every time I try to read or look at something on my laptop I fall asleep. Too many infections at the moment. However, tonight was a bit better so hopefully I'm coming out the other side!
This evening I took some time to read through some of the posts and threads on the forum. So many people are having such difficult times. So many are really struggling and so many have such wonderful things to say in support. There are times when I don't know where to turn and then remember that there is always someone here to offer guidance and support (and sometimes even a 'virtual' hug). Sometimes that's all we need, to know that someone is listening. Tonight I felt a sense of genuine kindness as I read through your posts.
Life appears to be full of trials and tribulations and I'm young and don't really know much about life at all. All that I can say is that reading the posts and responses on this forum tonight made me genuinely proud. Thank you all for being such a great support. It gives me great comfort to be able to share things with you all. Never, in my wildest dreams when I met Liz in London all those months ago would I realise how much a forum like this could do and mean to me.
Thank you UKPIPS and everyone who contributes, either as a facilitator of the charity or on the forum here. I, for one, am truly grateful.
Becks
