Infusion needles

Hello everyone,
We are having problems with the Neria needles used to infuse Christopher's subgam. Whilst on holiday in the Summer one of them failed to infuse and Christopher only realised when we removed his blanket to find it had leaked the whole 15 mls. Really bad timing as he then had to wait until we returned home when we could re-infuse the lost amount. The same thing happened again last night but fortunately Christopher realised at the very start and we were able to change the needle. In between times we have had a letter from GOSH advising us of this problem and that some patients have had to have needles surgically removed when they have broken insitu.
We used to have therasticks that never gave us a moments problem but were advised a few months ago that they had been discontinued and these were the alternative. I find it rather disconcerting that there is clearly a problem here but that we are being told to continue use, which does not give us piece of mind when infusing.
My question is, is anyone else having problems or knows of another alternative? We go to GOSH on Friday to meet with the dermatology consultant and Adrian Thrasher for the results of Christopher's summer operations, so it would be good to go armed with some other information. In the meantime I will also request to see the IG nurse to voice our concerns. Really hoping the M1 is kind to us this time after the nightmare journey home in August. Why are clinics always on a Friday? - the worse day for travelling, but that is another grrrr of mine.
