Swapping Immunoglobulin Treatment

Hi all,
I have recently been talking to people in a part of the NHS that has some part to play in the decision about what immunoglobulin therpay is available to us on the NHS. They are very clued up and realise the importance of their being different types available to us. They also intellectually understand the importance of us not being swapped from product to product depending on which is cheapest. However, they would be very interested in hearing the patients experience of this. For example in all the years I've been on replacement therapy (twenty seven!!!) I've only ever had four different types. Three of these are essentially the same but have changed their name or changed from being a 5% to a 10% product. I have therefor had verty limited experience of this, but feel that, from a patients point of view, staying on one product is a good idea. Apart from the safety issues to do with being on a blood product, there are the issues of each product being slightly different and the reactions that can cause in our bodies (shivers, headaches etc). Have anu of you got any stories about the reactions you may have had when transferring from one product to another? Was this just nuisance value in so much as you may have had to go back into hospital for change over infusions or did you actually feel unwell?
