New treatment begins

Hi Liz and everyone else
Curtis started his new treatment on Friday morning and so far he is tolerating it well.He is doing so well they let us out of hospital this afternoon.It is going to be a long three months as he has to have it every six hours so that's me up in the middle of the night as he has to have it given via his ng feeding tube straight from the fridge.So I will be drawing up at half 2 in the middle of the night with a 13 year old and a 6month old pup at my tail and then will have to try to settleeveryone back to bed again , but who cares I just hope it works for all are sakes especially Curtis's.We now have weekly visits to hospital as well which is 25 miles away as well so I guess I will be tired for a while.

So pleased to know that the treatment is in place and fingers crossed, beginning to work for Curtis.
But poor you you are going to be so tired,I know you will do anything needed for Curtis but can the hospital give you a little help maybe once a month for a few days,dont want you getting ill now.
Anyhow it's good news I will be thinking of you and wishing all goes well

Hi Lorraine. Good news about Curtis. I hope all continues to go well. I really sympathise with you over the night-time routine. There was a time when I had a newborn demanding a feed at 2am, I'd just get her back to sleep when my husband would wake around 4am needing pain medication for his broken back, and wakeful company until the painkiller kicked in. All I can say is that you survive! Good luck and please keep us posted.

Brilliant news about his treatment starting and he is tolerating it.
I don't envy you getting up in the middle of the night but you will soon get into a routine and it will fly by.

Perhaps you could organise a rota where everyone gets some "me time" to recharge their batteries, particularly you? Could the District Nurse support you and do one of the daily doses?
