Cushings disease--info anyone

Was at the doc today as I have a very sore back, caused by extreme coughing over the years of chest infections and having 4 pillows prop me up so have been on pain killers for some time but it is getting worse.doc decides I might also have cushings disease, which is caused by someone that has been on prednisilone for years, I also have cronic asthma. As a side effect one of my glands is in overtime, and I have got softening of the joint along with a few other problems.
Really was wondering if anyone else has suffered from this?

Hi Susi. I don't like to see people left with no reply. I guess the problem is that like me, no-one has any experience of Cushing's disease, which is a completely new name to me. My medical handbook calls it Cushing's Syndrome and quotes prednisolone as a factor in developing it. I hope you get more helpful replies than mine, but at least you know your thread's been read. All I can offer is sympathy.

i can only sympathise with the abdominal pain that chronic coughing gives me.
i can't help you with personal experience of any other of your other conditions, but i hope you get some relief really soon.

Thanks for posting back, it's has made me feel a little better, I am in the middle of getting some tests so when I have the results I will get back to you,infusions tonight so be back thur.

Hi Susi,

I'm sorry to hear you have this diagnosis, although like other people I have no idea about this condition. I did Google (and we all know how circumspect we need to be when viewing medical info on the internet) Cushings and several links came up of interest - in particular one regarding a support group and another about living with Cushings. You have probably already done this! Like Gillie, I don't like seeing people not get replies and I know how alone and fearful one can sometimes feel in the face of an unknown condition.
