Sky are the limit for Liz

Just got a message from an understandably angry Liz Macartney,she has been left high and dry by SKY she has absolutely no internet connection so cant work or even read the forum.
Poor Liz steam is coming out of the phone

Thanks, Mimms - just what we wanted to hear. I think we've spent at least two hours today "on hold" with SKY - let alone talking to them which must be another 3 hours and they've really excelled themselves with incompetence - but let's not go there, I'm too tired and Liz is on her knees.
Suffice it to say, at SKY's suggestion and confirmation they'd pay for it, I went out at 6.0pm to see Mr. Curry where I availed us of a pay-and-go Dongle, so at least we're sort of contactable again. The difference is our emails can't be set to standby for the whole day as normal as this will rack up exponential cost - but at least the world can now contact UKPIPS if it's so inclined. What's more, if the gods smile gently upon us, we might even be able to send you reply!!!!
Isn't technology just too marvellous for words!!!!!!!
State of things at the moment is SKY promise to send our 'router' by "Special Delivery" and that'll take between three and six working days so please don't anyone expect communication miracles on the shorter term.

HOORAY
After spending the majority of yesterday on the telephone to a selection of SKY employees we know FINALLY have a working modem. In the end they realised that yes they could step outside of the box and send us one by courier, which is wht I asked them to do on Monday. Five days without internet acess has really screwed my ability to get on with UKPIPS work. Thank you SKY for your total inability to get your act together and support this organisation by fulfilling your contractual obligations.

sky is a swear word in my house had so many problems with them their organisational skills are pants and people should vote with thier feet and go with a better provider after hours on the phone to them ki have been reduced to tears and banging my head againt the wall

Sky has somewhat redeemed themselves. Asa "sorry" for all the problems they have caused UKPIPS by NOT providing my internet connection when they said they would, they have given UKPIPS a donation of £50.00. Thank you SKY
