Sad day at the clinic yesterday

hi all,
yesterday i got my infusions at the graham hayton unit of the royal london hospital.
a group of us infuse together, we call ourselves the wednesday gang and it's usually a lot of chat and banter, and dare i say fun.
we usually see patients from another diagnosis group in the clinic, people who do not have pids but have similar problems to us.
one guy in particular seemed to be always around, we all liked him very much, a real character with his coloured mohican and his tales of his fan-worship and adoration of madonna.
yesterday the wednesday gang remarked that we hadn't seen eugene for a few weeks and that the last time we saw him he looked terrible.
we asked a nurse if she knew how he was and then we heard the awful news that he had died the day before, aged just 40, and had been an in-patient for the past 3 weeks.
i'm sure that everyone who uses the graham hayton unit knew eugene, the world there will be a sadder place without him.
rest in peace eugene, we will all miss you.

How very sad for you all in the clinic and devastating for his family. It was good that he would have known how you all enjoyed his company. May he rest in peace.

I hope that he had many wonderful days in his short life after all, as Ralph Waldo Emerson put it, "it is not length of life, but depth of life". It sounds like he had a full and happy life with lots of stories to tell. It is very sad and I hope that the members of the Wednesday Gang are all ok after the awful news.
