On Monday I had a severe allergic reaction I believe too Hizentra my SQIG product, it could be something else as I have lots of allergies. I spent two days in ER for this while they ruled out a heart attack, then treated me for Anaphlatic (sp) allergic reaction. I now ache from head to toe, and I am exhausted, but at least my heart for the most part is beating normally.
Today I went in to be checked out again, and was told last weeks sputum test came back positive for Serratia marcescens, so when I finish medications for allergic reaction, I have to take antibiotic for 3 weeks.
This is a hospital acquired bug that is hard to get rid of because it is drug resistant. At present it is making have a very thick pink phlegm, that causes me to cough and choke, I assume making me tried as well.
I just oust can't seem to get rid of theses hospital acquired bugs.
About 3 years ago I developed Serratia Marcescens, with Pseudomonas both are hospital acquired bugs, suffered with both of theses bugs for a year before anyone figured what I had, I had gotten to the point of having a cystic fibrous type condition. This was the catalyst to start IGg treatment. After proper treatment I had got rid of the Serratia Marcescens, but not the Pseudomonas. I was told the IGg and more antibiotics should take care of it, it didn't I suffered an other year from it. I finally had my sputum re tested, it came back positive this time for Staph, after being treated for this multiple time and 5 months later, I had my sputum re tested and this time it came back positive for Serratia marcescens.
So now I have gone full circle, are my sinuses and lungs ever going to be clear of theses bugs. My Dr doesn't put me in the hospital because I catch everything, I think I got theses bugs in the first place looking after my father in law, while he was in the hospital.
To top it all off I am getting an infection beside my thumb, which seems to be progressing pretty fast, this afternoon when I was at the Dr's it was fine, now it red swollen, hot and very tender, but no cut or sore to be seen. I seem to get theses type infection frequently, last time within days the infection was in my blood, then I got septic arthritis, not fun.
Sorry to complain it just been a hard week, I though theses types of weeks were over after I got on IGg, but I guess if I catch something and get run down then things snowball.
