Hi PID Support Forum Members,
As you'll know, it is a constant problem with the forum in that most members only infrequently visit, which makes it difficult for them to effectively "be there at the right time" to see a thread that may be helpful or they can contribute to.
For this reason we've decided to trial a new idea to hopefully increase awareness of threads amongst members; previously we were putting a weekly list of new threads up on our Facebook page and Twitter stream, but because it didn't seem to cause an increase in members posting we decided to temporally discontinue it. Now, we are going to re-commence that idea, and furthermore email the list to each member at the end of every week (Sunday), which we hope will substantially increase thread awareness. These will just give the titles of the new threads listed in the "General Primary Immunodeficiency Discussion" and "Newly Diagnosed Lounge" areas, a link to the relevant areas and possibly a brief description; individual threads will NOT be linked to.
By default everyone will be opted into these weekly thread list emails, but if you want to opt out then simply post a message saying so in the thread at primaryimmuno.proboards.com/thread/802/weekly-thread-list-emails-comments and we will remove you from list of members who get the updates.
We hope that you find this to be a useful service, and feel free to leave feedback, comments and suggestions in the same thread linked above; based on members feedback we may make some changes, but we'll make sure to keep you informed.
Additionally, with our previous Facebook/Twitter list concept we gave the option of having a thread not appear on the list, and this will remain. Therefore if you're creating a thread you can say that you don't want it to appear on the weekly list by following the instructions at primaryimmuno.proboards.com/page/dontlist
Remember that the forum can always be found at www.primaryimmuno.proboards.com and if you've forgotten your username or password then you can recover them at login.proboards.com/forgot/3391770 by providing your email address etc.
We hope to see you on the forum again soon!
Thanks,
Sam, John and Gloria (The forum staff)
