A Great Basic Introduction to Immunology

The book linked below is a very well known resource for learning immunology and if anyone is interested in learning about how their immune system works in detail then the first 2 chapters are a basic introduction and if you should want more than that then it is all in there.

Its a free electronic version of 'Janeway's Immunobiology' which is a popular textbook amongst biosciences students (I own it!) as it gives the facts plainly but has a lot of detail, plus it is fairly easy to read. It might interest you to know that it is/was (unfortunately he has now died) written by Charles A Janeway Junior who was a prominent immunologist and also the son of Charles A Janeway Senior, a famous paediatrician who was the first person to describe CVID in 1953.
