Hi,

If anyone has any problems with the forum, or needs some help with how to use it then post a message here and we'll try to help!

If you've not seen it already, and you need some help with the basics of using the forum then try looking in our Forum Help Centre which has information about things like how to create threads, post replies, use Private Messaging etc. If you're still having problems though then post them here!

To post in here simply write your message in the text box at the bottom of the page and then click the 'Post Quick Reply' button. Someone will shortly try to help you.

New help article available: "Quoting a Post

Have you ever wanted to reply directly to a post in a thread, but make sure that people are aware of what post you're referring to? Well you can do this very simply by "quoting" a post where the selected post is repeated above your message. This will also bring up a notification to the member who made the post that they've been quoted.

Quoting is very simple, see the linked article for details of how to do it.

Don't know where to post this, but hope a moderator might see.

Every time I click on the link for the "Primary Immunodeficiency Support Forum" link I get hit with a spam pop-up. Can you guys get rid of this problem, as I am worried about what is going on with this site and don't want to contaminate my computer.

I have no idea who deals with technical problems.

Unfortunately we don't host this forum ourselves which does make it difficult for us to investigate or change things like that. Basically Proboards give you a ready built "bare bones" and hosted forum with a URL of your choice, and from there its up to the forum admin as to how it looks, operates etc, but Proboards still maintain the underlying software, advertisements etc. I don't know why you're getting pop ups as Proboards are very specific in that they don't use them.

Firstly, could you check that it's not just your end by running a virus/adware scan and seeing if the problem goes away? If not then I'll get onto Proboards support and ask them to investigate.

I get them as well. thankfully, my anti-malware and adware blocker stops it but it is very annoying.

O.K now that two people have reported it I'll get Proboards support to look into it. I'll admit that a few months ago I got them come up a couple of times, but assumed it must have just been something that stealthily got onto my computer as they stopped coming up after I had ran a scan (if I remember correctly).

I'll make sure this is sorted out.

Hi floopyjim and hlh, are you still getting the problem? Proboards support think it's likely that the stat counter that I added to forum homepage had allowed an ad server to act through the forum and recommended removing the counter. I've now done that and would like to know if the problem is still there for you?

Do you want to know when somebody posts a reply in a particular thread? Well if you bookmark the thread then you'll be emailed as soon as somebody replies; it's very simple to do, just follow the instructions linked above.
