Volunteers to join benefits group?

Hi all,
Having taken on board some very helpful advice from my previous thread (PAD and benefits) I had an idea which I ran by Liz, and which she's given me the go-ahead to put to you.
Whilst we don't have a specialist benefits advisor for UKPIPS, we do collectively have a great deal of experience of claiming benefits, and of course expert knowledge of how living with PID/PAD affects our day-to-day life.
I'd therefore like to start a group of willing volunteers to put together a patient-led advice sheet for claiming benefits. We would start with ESA and DLA as they are most relevant but could go on to look at other benefit entitlements too.
I'd envisage that I could create a Facebook group for anyone interested (or ask Sam for other ideas for private discussion if there are non-FB people who want to join). I could then post the different questions that are in the benefits application forms and together we could brainstorm answers that might be relevant and helpful. In addition we could brainstorm any other helpful tips or advice. I'd then collate it all and forward it to Liz, who would get it OK'd by the UKPIPS trustees and medical advisory panel, and have it looked at by Liz's CAB contact.
It could then be shared with other PID/PAD people who are entering the minefield of applying for benefits!
