Fed up doesn't even BEGIN to cover what I'm feeling this evening. I had what appeared to be the tummy bug 'doing the rounds' over the weekend of August 4th-5th and was quite content, for a while, with the duty doctor who visited me when I'd almost passed out early on Sunday morning. I suspect now that what I experienced was a classic of being treated as a horse instead of a zebra. Feeling more than a little wrung-out by Monday, I became reconciled over the week to being unable to eat as I felt that a brick already resided behind my diaphragm. I'm well padded so didn't feel I was in any way threatened as long as I kept up my fluids. I was more concerned not to mess up Tommy's medication because I kept falling asleep unpredictably. In the last couple of days, however, I'd been feeling really light-headed and ill so went to one of my regular GPs this morning. After seeing her,I wasn't allowed to go any further than to the Treatment Room where half an armful of blood was taken, the doctor already having forbidden me to drive any further than the distance home because my blood pressure's so low! With a husband with Alzheimer's and a home in a village without a pavement or local shop, how do I manage without a car? I'm feeling beaten as well as beaten up this evening. At least I've wangled a lift to the hospital for ivig early tomorrow, but it took all afternoon to organise! Wish me luck - and a speedy return of my BP to normal levels!
